Welcome to the FAQs page, where I aim to provide you with answers to some of the most common questions you may have about my counseling services. I understand that taking the step to seek therapy can raise a range of queries, and I'm here to offer clarity and support. Explore the information below to find answers to frequently asked questions about therapy sessions, my approach, and more. If you don't see your question here, please feel free to reach out to me directly for personalized assistance. Your well-being is my priority, and I'm here to help you on your therapeutic journey.

1-What is a typical session like?

A typical session is different for each individual based on the client’s needs, issues and goals. Most sessions are 60 minutes long. I will listen to your concerns with a nonjudgmental attitude and demeanor while recommending different strategies as needed.

2- Is everything discussed confidential?

Counselors protect the confidential information of prospective and current clients. Counselors disclose information only with appropriate consent or with sound legal or ethical justification. Confidentiality does not apply when disclosure is required to protect clients or identified others from serious and foreseeable harm or when legal requirements demand that confidential information must be revealed.

3- How do I know that therapy is working?

There are multiple ways to know whether or not therapy is working. One way to know is if you recognize that you are using the skills you learned in session, in between sessions. Other ways include if you recognize that you have set healthy boundaries, prioritized yourself more and can effectively deal with conflict or challenging situations.

4- Do you prescribe medication?

Unfortunately, I cannot prescribe medication. If medication is needed, please contact a psychiatrist or primary care doctor.

5- If I relocate to another state, can therapy services continue?

Unfortunately, I am only licensed in North Carolina. Therefore, if you relocate to another state, counseling services will be terminated.
